What we do

Basically, Climate Capital's charter is to facilitate profitable capital flows to investments which rebalance humanity and nature.

Climate Capital is a specialist investment manager focused on investment in environmentally responsible opportunities which present attractive returns. The investment strategy of Climate Capital is directed toward a portfolio of climate change mitigants, sustainable energy solutions and new market facilitators.

Our investment universe includes renewable energy (wind, wave, solar, fuel cell, biofuels, geothermal), waste management (including carbon sequestration), sustainable food production and water management.

Our business structure comprises:

Solutions - provides specialised consulting services to clients in relation to environmental impacts and exposures.

Projects - helps to incubate initiatives, technology and related intellectual property which will assist in rebalancing humanity and nature.

Investing - Funds management focused on sustainability solutions with traditional capital flows.

Community - aims to share the benefit of its global connections with investors, corporate, government and thought-leaders.

Climate Capital's activities will evolve to include sustainable, wealth-creating businesses delivering capital and advice, resulting in the efficient allocation of the environment (through traditional economic and capital markets processes).

Climate Capital is currently considering opportunities to advise or facilitate capital flows to geothermal exploration, biofuels, run-of-river hydro, abatement assurance and partnering with water organisations and developers to introduce dual-reticulation in urban consolidation projects.

Climate Capital is a dedicated financial services provider but specialises in outcomes emerging from the enviro-regulatory and sustainability niche.

It is not an altruist whose decisions are influenced by personal fascination with specific initiatives, charismatic figureheads, emotional attachments or high-minded environmental ideals. It is in the business of identifying and assessing opportunity and achieving extraordinary ROI for its clients.

Improvement of the planet is a worthy and satisfying by-product.

Our people

We have established a highly reputable team which provides a balance of funds management expertise, environmental thought leaders and financial analysts.

Rod Douglas
MBA FAICD
Chairman

Rod is CEO of Successystems Pty Ltd, a specialist consultancy to high growth enterprises and has spent the last 15 years developing specific processes to drive the commercialisation and scalability of high growth opportunities. He currently is a director or chairs the advisory board for 7 of his clients. His consultancy clients span leading ASX listed financial and industrial organizations through to professional services firms.

With a powerful understanding of project development built during 10 years of developing purpose-built property projects throughout Australia, Rod is leading Climate Capital to identify and monetize projects which will powerfully honour Climate Capitals mission of 'rebalancing nature & humanity'. As Chairman of Climate Capital, Rod is drawing on a lifetime of passion for sustainability and a belief that social entrepreneurship (the marriage of profit- seeking capital and social outcomes) is the basis for Climate Capital's success.

Rod is also a director of Australia’s largest environmental not-for-profit, and invests significant time, expertise and passion into delivering on the organisations mission of delivering 'landscape scale transformation' for our environment.

Rod retired 15 years ago to his 220 acre property in the hinterland of the Gold Coast where he became interested in the processes of re-vegetating his own property, and then passionate about the challenges of restoring Australia's landscape health.
